Dr. Eric Lindquist is an Associate Professor in the School of Public Service, Boise State University. From 2020-2023 he was on leave from SPS serving as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation, in the Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) program. Since January 2026, he is a Visiting Guest Researcher at the University of Graz.
Dr. Lindquist’s research interests are in public policy and decision processes, agenda setting, problem definition, earth systems governance, and the impact of focusing events on public policy, as well as environmental policy and science and technology policy. His current and sabbatical research project takes a policy history perspective in the context of scientific internationalization during the Cold War: “Atomic entomology as scientific diplomacy: the Sterile Insect Technique in an international and historical context.”
