Bei der Konferenz „Cold War Borders and Borderlands in Europe and Northeast Asia, 1944-1991“ in Udine und Gorizia (I) war unser Institut mit mehreren Beiträgen und Mitarbeitern vertreten.
Veranstaltungsbeschreibung in Englisch:
This workshop will bring together scholars from various countries to discuss key issues pertaining to Cold War borderlands in Europe and Northeast Asia (i.e., regions along the dividing line between East and West from the mid-1940s through the early 1990s). One aim of the workshop will be to set up an international and multidisciplinary network of scholars working on the topic.
Am Freitag, den 10. März, sprachen im Panel „Life in the Borderlands“ Philipp Lesiak (Incidents along Austria’s Borders with Czechoslovakia and Hungary) und Dieter Bacher (Border Incidents between Austria and Yugoslavia), am Samstag, den 11. März, moderierte Peter Ruggenthaler das Panel „Divided Cities, Divided Nations“.
Die Università degli Studi di Udine, die Associazione Friuli Storia, Harvard University/Cold War Studies und unser Institut haben die Veranstaltung durchgeführt.
