Wars don’t end when the weapons fall silent…

“Wars have antecedents and they have consequences: in private and public life, in politics and economics, in social, humanitarian or cultural fields. Wars damage the human soul and the most diverse relationships, often over generations. Their traces are often – at first glance – invisible, but nevertheless present, subcutaneously, as it were burned into biographies as well as into places.”

Within the framework of partnerships with the University of Graz and the City of Graz, educational and research projects on European contemporary history are carried out, focusing on conflict and migration studies as well as on urban, social, and cultural issues.

These projects are characterized by innovative research questions and interdisciplinary as well as international networking, significantly contributing to scientific progress.
